Our Mission

Empowering Every Reader is dedicated to promoting literacy and providing resources for adolescent readers in middle and high school. Our team is passionate about making reading accessible and enjoyable for all students. We believe that literacy is a fundamental skill that should be developed in all readers. Literacy empowers individuals to succeed in all aspects of life. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to create a world where every student has the opportunity to become confident and enthusiastic in all areas of literacy.

Meet the Team

Co-Founder

Kerri Harris, MS

Kerri is in her 18th year of working in special education. Currently, she is a middle school special education teacher and case manager. Through UC San Diego, she earned a Reading and Literacy certification and added authorization, and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. Kerri is in her 18th year of working in special education. Kerri and her family live in central NH where she enjoys time in the mountains.

Co-Founder

Loralyn LaBombard, Ed.D

Dr. LaBombard works as a middle school Reading Specialist. With 25 years of experience in special education and literacy, she has worked with schools and organizations such as Vermont Reads, the Stern Center for Language and Learning, and the Wilson Language Training Corporation. She is an adjunct professor for the Vermont Higher Education Collaborative teaching coursework in literacy. She earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont, and a MA in Special Education from Assumption College. Dr. LaBombard lives with her family in central NH where she enjoys time in the mountains.

Meet in person or virtually with Empowering Every Reader's co-founders. These sessions are designed to provide a general overview of structured literacy implementation at the middle and high school level.

We offer partnership opportunities for educators, schools, and districts. These sessions are multi-day and provide support in developing your own adolescent structured literacy classes. Examples of this service include: Needs assessment,

Program Development, and class schedules.

Implementation Cohorts

Year long professional learning framework designed to support middle and high school educators with implementing structured literacy instructional practices and classes at their school site to support struggling adolescent learners.
